Simulated Grading Service
All grades provided by CardCondition.com are computer-generated simulations based on artificial intelligence analysis of uploaded card images. These are predictions and estimates, not official certifications.
Nature of Service
Limitations and Accuracy
Image-Based Analysis: Our assessments are entirely based on uploaded photographs. Image quality, lighting conditions, camera angles, and resolution significantly impact the accuracy of our analysis.
Hidden Defects: Certain card defects may not be visible in photographs, including but not limited to:
- Surface indentations or creases not visible from certain angles
- Print lines or roller marks
- Subtle color variations
- Back surface damage when only front is clearly photographed
- Edge wear not captured due to image resolution
Subjective Elements: Card grading involves subjective human judgment. Professional graders may evaluate centering, corners, edges, and surfaces differently than our algorithms predict.
Variability: Professional grading companies may assign different grades to the same card upon multiple submissions. Our simulated grades reflect this inherent variability in the grading process.
No Guarantees
- Professional Grade Matching: We do NOT guarantee that a card submitted to a professional grading service will receive a grade similar to our simulated estimate.
- Card Value: Simulated grades should NOT be used as the sole basis for determining a card's market value, making purchase decisions, or conducting financial transactions.
Liability Limitations
CardCondition.com, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates accept NO RESPONSIBILITY or LIABILITY for:
- Discrepancies between simulated grades and professional grades
- Financial losses resulting from decisions based on our simulated grades
- Purchase, sale, or trade decisions made using our estimates
- Submissions to professional grading services that result in different grades
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages
Our Recommendations
- Multiple Opinions: Consider obtaining multiple professional opinions for high-value cards.
- Research: Conduct thorough research on grading standards and market values before making important decisions regarding your cards.
- Educational Tool: Use CardCondition.com as an educational tool to understand grading criteria and prepare cards for professional submission, not as a replacement for professional grading.
AI Technology Limitations
Our AI models are continuously learning and improving but may not capture all nuances of professional grading. Current AI and image recognition technology has inherent limitations in assessing physical objects through photographs.
- Algorithm performance depends on training data quality
- May not perfectly represent all card types, eras, or conditions
- Cannot replicate the tactile examination performed by professional graders
